ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a New York based contemporary figurative and portrait painter. I like to transform any image seen (mainly women’s into my own interpretation, capturing its beauty and story, while conveying an emotion or unveiling a hidden part of their personality. 

 It is about my perception of the person, families/ friends captured at a specific time. It is the reflection and translation of my deepest –sometimes unknown- thoughts, moods and feelings.

the viewer can identify himself with the subject and associate personal memories or feelings to what is viewed. 

the paintings are acrylic-based with mixed media. The colors and texture create an abstract background where one can let it’s imagination wander.

I do commissioned artwork for family portraits, artwork for musicians (cd covers)and portraits.
